In this computer science course, students build robots using LEGO® robotics equipment. Students develop familiarity with foundational concepts in computer science, such as algorithms, sequential control flow, and the use of Boolean operators, as they learn to program and control their robots using the NXT-G™ object-oriented programming environment.

In the investigation Wheels to Distance, we looked at the relationship between wheel size and the distance travelled after a set number of rotations. We found that with the bigger wheels, the robot goes farther than with the smaller wheels. we also discovered that if you measure the diameter of the wheel and multiply that times pie times the number of rotations, it gives you a very close reading to the distance the robot actually travels. This can be helpful in making a faster robot because if you use bigger wheels, in the same number of rotations, you could go much faster than if you were to use the smaller wheels because you would cover more distance with each rotation.
How does wheel size and motor rotations affect distance traveled? Wheel size affects the distance traveled because with bigger wheels the robot is allowed to go farther and with smaller wheels the robot is limited to its distance. Measuring the diameter of the wheel and multiplying to 3.14 pie and multiplying again to the number of rotation equals to the closest measurement distance of robot traveling.
The wheel size does affect the distance traveled the bigger the wheel the further the robot will travel and the smaller the wheel the less distance the robot will travel.
We also used pie for our calculation.
In the wheels and distance "investigation", we investigated how wheel size and the distance traveled relate.
What we found from our experiment/investigation was that when the taskbot is equipped with bigger wheels, the taskbot travels at a further distance than equipped with smaller wheels.
We saw this coming due to the theoretical calculation/formula given to us. The formula helps to find the distance the taskbot would travel. However it does not give the exact distance as the distance traveled could easily be affected by other variables on the field of investigation.
How does wheel size and motor rotations affect distance travelled?
After I completed the lab of the wheels and distance, I investigate to see the relationships between wheel size and distance travelled; also motor rotations and distance travelled.
From the investigations, I got perfect answer for both investigations.
For the 1st investingation, to see the relationship between wheel size and distance travelled.
I found out that, if the wheel size is bigger, then the distance travelled increase.
Of course, in this investigation, the only change is wheel size, and distance travelled. I did not change the motor rotations.
There is increase in both wheel size, and distance travelled. It is because, bigger wheel got longer (more) circumferences than the smaller wheel, therefore, when the rotation is same, the bigger wheel will go further away.
For the 2nd investigation, to see the relationship between motor rotation and distance travelled. I found out that, if the rotation is more, then the distance travelled will increase.
